These old wooden phone boxes are hard to find in Australia, they were replaced by newer modern ones. Even the new ones are becoming hard to find as most people now carry mobile phones.
A shopping center I worked in a few years ago had its only public phone removed because it wasn't making the phone company enough money.
Pitty is wasn't blue otherwise I would have stuck my head in to see if the inside was bigger than the outside...............

ReplyDeleteSo old fashioned and quaint.... here in Florida, a wooden box would not last very long. Too many termites!

I love this blast from the past. These phone boxes were once quite coomon and it was also quite common to struggle to find one that worked! That included trying to get the door open!
